System UNIX Administrator

Knowledge and Background:

• Bachelor level education or level obtained through experience
• Minimum 5 years experience in a similar IT role
• Experience working for telecom operators or ISP’s is preferred
• Good knowledge and capability to design, install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot Unix based systems and applications (predominantly UNIX and some Microsoft)
• Good knowledge of Internet and LAN technology
• Excellent command of English.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Shared responsibilities for the support and maintenance of the (local and international) Office Automation equipment and software.
• Maintenance and support of local and international Unix / Linux based systems. This includes Unix based ticketing, accounting and billing systems.
• Standardize, clean, document and monitor this environment to increase its efficiency and lower maintenance costs.
• Database maintenance and support for all our database systems (MySQL but also MS-SQL)
• Development and implementation of reporting and data warehouse environments.
• Part of the virtual pan-country IS organization (functional line) which will result in responsibilities on group level for group-wide Unix based services (alignment, design / development, implementation, maintenance and support).
• Responsible for all local and international ISP and hosting services (design / development, implementation, maintenance and support) including E-mail, DNS, hosting, databases, etc.
• Programming of scripts and small programs.
• Liaise with local vendors of hardware and software.

Anticipated start date: October 2010 or later

Location: Moscow
